Silver Utah quarter mint mark P error?

I have the story in the coin section but wanted to put it here also..to be honest cause today finds get more traffic an can get more opinions... My wife found this in Nj... pocket change

I'm pretty sure this is silver an a proof error! I'm no expert so i need the experts to tell me what they think! thanks

Sorry, I think this is just someone's dipping toy, probably mercury. All state quarter proofs (both clad and 90% silver) were produced at the San Fransisco mint (S mint mark). Circulation strikes were done at Philly and Denver. There would be no silver quarter blanks at the Philly mint to allow this error.

A friend of mine had one just like this. They are manufactured by dunking a regular quarter into a plating solution, usually something called "electroless nickel." They usually end up in circulation after being spent.
