Hit a local park Sunday and dug 5 Wheat cents in the first 30 minutes, cool! Then silence! Another hour of hunting produced some can slaw and an old bottle cap. It was a good outing, but that one extra goody was missing. The next morning I was scheduled to go into work late, so on an impulse, I hit a homesite that I've hunted before. The first 15 minutes, nothing! I decided to go to Mixed Mode for the last few minutes before work. I got a strange hit, VDI +37, slightly broken tone, but repeatable from different directions, and deep. OK, dig! Turned out to be a 1945 silver war nickel 6-7 inches deep, on edge! I'll take that! Nice collection of goodies, now time for work. H Digs!
