funny thing is...i know you will reach most of those goals with all the coins you search. :thumbsup:

Without looking at my spreadsheets (which are at home), I think I only hit 11 of the goals on my list in 2009, some of them I have never hit. I am off to a great start this year (post sometime in the next day or two). ;D

In the 4 years I have been doing a lot of volume..
IHC - only hit once
wheat pennies - most ever was around 4500 in a year
IHC oldest - I am asking for one older than my oldest so obviously I have never hit that before
lifetime IHC and wheat penny varieties are getting tougher every year

V Nickels - Last year was my first year with none
Buffalo nickels - Unless I get lucky, this will probably be tight, but I did hit it last year
War Nickels - Missed 120 by 6 to 8 last year.
complete Jefferson set - Missed by 2 again last year (1938-S and 1950-D are perennially my toughest as I have been left with only those in 2 of the past 4 years)
2009-D Nickel - Can't believe I didn't find 1 last year
Buffalo varieties - Tougher every year

Barber/Seated Dimes - Found my first Barber last year after 4 years (granted my dime volume was higher too)
Mercury Dimes - Missed by 1 last year, should be able to achieve if find rates hold up.
silver dimes - I should be able to reach this goal, missed by only a couple last year.
Complete the Roosevelt set - Been a goal for the past 3-4 years...hasn't happened yet.
Lifetime Mercs - Tougher every year

Other than completing the Roosevelt set, the rest of my dime goals are probably the most likely to be achieved.

Standing Liberty Quarter or older - hasn't happened for me yet
roll of quarters - Just missed last year, by far my biggest quarter year ever
lifetime varieties - Tougher every year

Barber Half or older - If I search enough halves I may find this one, have met it twice
675 silver halves - Need to search more halves, but reachable
Walker Varieties - tougher every year and tough already
Franklin Varieties - very tough, will take luck

Canadian goals - all theoretically reachable and the threshold is set pretty low, the toughest is the pennies as I don't have that many left.

Foreign silver - will take luck, but I have had a few of them so hoping for the best
Volume - I should hit my volume goal if I keep doing what I have been doing and my pickup and dump banks continue to cooperate ;D

I prefer to set the bar high and then go for it. That's why the goal of my collection is a roll of each date/mintmark/intentional variety for each denomination minted and intended for circulation by the US and Canada (at least where a roll is possible... I would be happy with a single 1913 V Nickel... ;D ) And of course to fill any coin folders I decide to fill in addition.

Shorthand for a first time ever in my lifetime find of a particular variety.

For example, I have never found a 1864 Indian Head Cent so if I found one tomorrow, it would be a "new lifetime" find.

GMAN, You are doing quite well on your goals. Congrats! :thumbsup: I don't think I will come even close to mine. I have had to take a bunch of time off and when I do CRH I find very little. Maybe things will turn around soon. Congrats again you will meet your goals by the end of the year. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

The only goal that I made for myself was to recover more silver each month than the year before. So far I've met these goals and won't have a hard time with it until August. In August of 09 I got about 15 solid rolls of halves(not all at once), so that is going to be a hard month to beat. I started late in the year getting dimes(400+) and quarters(got 47 last year) so there is no way I can try to beat last years numbers on these.

I really enjoy your reports and look forward to reading them. Your goals are very challenging and sound like a lot of fun trying to reach them.
At some point in the future I'd like to try to do what you are doing. I'll skip the half dollars though.
