All Treasure Hunting
hi to all you beach hunters i have been digging the beaches and up to my neck in water on low tide in Sentosa now for about 2 plus years and pretty much cleaned up lol,its very hard to find anything now and i have a very hi powered detector pi , and what doesn't help maters is the new sand they keep putting on the beaches ;-( , also i have seen a lot of holes dug in the sand buy other detectors and the people who dug them just leave the trash on the beach witch is dangerous for people especially the sharp nails , and it doesn't look good and is unprofessional and they could put a stop to us detecting there and that would not be good ;-(( has any body seen this to http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/BangHead.gif

I am afraid that it is the same the world over.
You are on the right track, in making the problem visible, so that others are aware.
Whenever, I see a detectorists, with an entry level detector, I take the time to welcome them to the
hobby, give them a few pointers if they need it, and make sure that they are aware that holes should be
filled and and trash hauled away.

Most newbies are appreciative and are cooperative.

However, there will always be those who are uncooperative, and only care about themselves.
What they fail to realize, is that they are leaving clues, as to where treasures lie as you cannot get it all.
It is well worth the effort filling in the holes they have left and hauling away their trash as by doing so
you are cleaning the beach so that you will be able to find the deeper better targets.

That's about the best thay you can do by yourself, other than make it uncomfortable for those who act irresponsibly.
After that it will take group pressure, enforcement, or loss of privilege
