Siphon kumysgen bottle and giant shell

Maybe someone can tell me why there was a giant shell next to this bottle to? ....bottle reads , siphon kumysgen bottle for preparing kumyss from kumysgen reed and carnrick N.Y use 7 tablets fill to this line. Bottle is about 6 inches tall

Yeah pretty cool bottle I'm stumped on the shell but the more I read and look stuff up I think it is pretty old and made for something I will have to repost it under conch shell artifact to grab some different attention
