Thanks, Tommy. I am going to mount the door plate to the inside of my shed door. I think this is Victorian, but hope someone can share some insights.

Thanks! I have not had much luck cleaning beach silver, as I don't have an electrolysis set up. I have not cleaned these coins or the other items at all, other than gently brushing with a tooth brush. Fortunately, these look good already, though a little darker in real life.

Yes...and on just one low tide this morning. Not shown is the clad, sinkers (which I will put to good use), pull tabs, melted cans, etc. I have found Mercury and Roosevelt dimes here before, but this was my best day yet . I would have kept going were it not for the rising waters. Thanks!

Outstanding hunt, congrats! :occasion14:

Do you hunt water at all?

Looks much better than the silver I pulled from the water today:occasion14:

Reply to Casper2 .... Not really, though I wish I did. I don't get to the ocean much due to distance, and I struggle with recovering targets in rivers and lakes, e.g., reflections, cloudy water, current, etc. I know I need to make a greater effort though, as the water opens up more search areas and might not be hit as bad by more casual detectorists. I know you have done very well in the water, by quality and quantity, as I recall.

Thank you for the info and kind offer. I know I need to be more patient and not get discouraged, as experience is key. By the way, to say you have done "very well" in the water is a gross understatement on my part!

Thank you - thing is you do have to have patience when you drive that far -Ma., Ct., and R.I. saltwater spots are a little bit of a trek each time
-I like to do over nighters usually - I have never hit a virgin spot - most of the spots I hit are ones others said were "cleaned"
out and have to slow down and work for what I get
Continued Good Luck to you

Congrats on your "firsts". That is a nice batch of silver.

Sweet pile O silvers!

Very impressive !!!! I’ve only ever found one silver coin beach hunting, a 1918 walker last year, 10” down and smoked. Great job

Thanks, Joe-Dirt. I must have hit a lucky spot, but it is going to take a lot more than these four coins to catch up to your running total!
