I'm sure you've seen posts that mention dimensional weight. This is a perfect example. I had a box to ship that I originally put 16" X 16" X 4" and 4lbs. as the dimensions when I listed it. The shipping came $10.61 for Priority with the discount.
After the auction, the box I used was actually 7" deep. Same weight and still 16 x 16, but shipping went up to over $15. I cut the box down an inch to 16x16x6 and the price dropped back down to $10.61.
