I found this while detecting my
wifes aunts house that lives
about 200 yards from where
I live here in bagdad. I found it in early
October. It rang out
like a penny and was 6 inches deep.
It is about 3 and a half inches long.

Wow,

I love old keys! Now you just need the strongbox or hidden room that it goes to, for more booty. :icon_pirat:

Very nice find, there must be more hidden treasures there.

I love skeleton keys too! I think Lisa has the right idea though....the key would be SUCH much nicer if it had a treasure room it unlocked! lol Very neat old key though! I would love to find one!

allen,
nice find.

Allen, now that is a nice key. I've been detecting for only 18 yrs and I have never found a key like that. True, I find keys....house, luggage, auto, etc, but never a skeleton key. At present I have around 6 pounds of keys....but no 'long' key.

I found a skeleton key but it didn't look nearly as nice as yours!! Nice Find!!!

Nice key allen! I wonder what it opens :icon_scratch:

Nice find

I am glad I don't have to carry those around anymore though
