Last week, after 3 months of being told that my bank cannot get half dollar boxes, the clouds parted and I'm back in business.

Naturally, last week's box was a skunk.

This week's box was also a skunk, but it did contain 14 impaired proofs. What was kind of unusual was that they were more impaired that the typical ones I've found. I suspect that a fellow CRHer just got tired of keeping these coins and just dumped them.

I always keep proofs, 87s and 2002 or newer regardless of condition. I figure I can trade them in if I ever really needed to, but there may be a time we no longer see halves in circulation and we cannot get the opportunity back.

I post proofs removed from circulation for $40 per roll. $3 individually. If the buyer is picking up a few other things, I am willing to negotiate. Paw prints, bag marks, and the like greatly diminish what was a beautiful thing.

Time for more coffee.
