Well, I went and got $40 in halves from a bank, not a lot the way you fellers get halves, but no luck. I took them to my credit union to get em back into dollars, but they don't have a coin counter that can count half dollars. May have to find a new place to redeem them.

Do the places you redeem your half dollars count them manually or with a machine?

My bank counts them manually, or they have come to trust me and not count them at all. LOL Highly unlikely,so I guess they have fast fingers. ;) Just keep trying different banks and buy as much as possible, and I'm sure you will find some silver. Good luck!

My bank does it with a machine. I got an account with them specifically because they have the largest coin counter out of the banks I looked at.

I drop my halves off at US Bank, a big bank in the midwest. every branch has a coin machine counter and they all accept halves.

my bank (bank of america)only takes already rolled up coins. took over $400 rolled up today. It's weird since I'm on the canadian border that they do this. she did go over most of the rolls with a magnet which she said would find the canadian coins, but I still find about 2-3 candain coins per roll, so don't think it works ;D
