I went back and hit the same place again where I found the 2 Barber quarters, SLQ, IH penny, and Mercury dime. As hard as tried I couldn't get my search coil over any silver. I did manage to find 2 V Nickels (1899, 1906), a 1906 Indian Head penny, an old bullet, 11 wheat pennies, and a skeleton key.

That place has taken a pounding. The rain is coming in again, so I can rest up some before the next hunt.
I was using the Equinox 600 in Park 2, recovery speed 2, no iron bias, no discrimination, and using 50 tones.

Looks like a good hunt to me, congratulations! :occasion14:

Silver or not that's a great start Ive always wanted a skeleton key that is way cool Good luck my friend for 2019. Tommy

Nice finds! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: Nickels come out pretty good in your soil.

Nice finds! In my three years of metal detecting I have not found a single V Nickel! Up to this summer I had never found a buffalo or shield but I've started to pay attention to that type of signal. I really like the buffalo's but it's hard to find any that are not ruined by the ground. Recently I found a key exactly like yours! I would go back to your spot when the ground is really wet and see if you can squeeze some more stuff out of it!

Thanks, Everyone! I really did have a nice time. It's going to be raining for a few days, so I'll be ready to hit it again hard when the rain stops.
