Found in a 1900s dump in Pound Ridge, NY. Smaller than a dime and seems to be made of aluminum. Anyone have any guesses?

I found a reference to a Bale & Smith Hard times token from NY . Might be a place to start

Although I've never seen one quite like that, I'm guessing rail car/boxcar seal - Buffalo & Susquehanna Railroad. Ran from 1885 into the 1950's.
