🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Small brass item

Found on a beach at Lake Ontario where war of 1812 boat traffic occurred. It's just a small brass nipple. Looking for ideas . It reminds me of old fishing lure parts . It's .5 inches long . Maybe 3/8 " opening on one end and small hole on the other.

Reminds me of the tips to fuses. Like the ones used in old hand
crank phones. Not that I'm that old or anything.

Cup for an oil port. Older electric motor, sewing machine etc ? Would have been packed with cotton.

Carbon fuse! I will look at that.

I will check on that. Keep in mind remote beach. I feel it floated there off the lake attached to something.
