It looks to me that this quarter was stuck off center with LIBERTY.
Normal quarters say Liberty inside of the outer rim, however, this 1966 one, the ERTY is on top of the rim, almost completely off the coin.

Small error?

Maybe a little, not enough to give it any value.

What does the reverse of the coin look like? It is considered either a misaligned die or struck slightly off. The back would be the determing factor. If the reverse of the coin looks normal it is misaligned die. If it is off center also then the coin was slightly struck of center.

You are keying in on real errors if you keep searching you'll find something believe me. I have searched alot of coins and there are errors all over the place. You should start researching Varieties. They can be worth alot too. Check out VAMworld.com it is an awesome resource of valuable information.

The coin you have would not sell if you were to try but you know what to look for if it were a little more off center you would have a $10 error and maybe more depending on what percentage it is off center. Misaligned dies are not really collected but are a true form of striking error.
