Metal Detecting
Was off line for a few days and checked my email the other day and saw i had 5 PM's from Wild Willie looking to detect a new spot he found. so i met up with him yesterday and hunted this awesome site he found. dug a 1943P War nickle and the old US Navy button, anyone have a idea of it's age i'd love to know. after digging the belt loop hook thing, i got a nice silver hit and got the 1937 Mercury. we decided to detect back to our vehicles and save the site for our buddy Substation Fred. dug the metal tin and both of us could not make out anything on it but the date oct 2 1883... i said to Willie thats tomorrows date!!!! 126 years old !!!

Took Willie to a park i hunted before and 10 min's there i got another 1943P war nickle... working a small hill i got a strong penny hit at 3" and couldn't believe the super nice 1890 IH cent... couple of feet over another penny hit at 3" and got the 1907 IH, still another couple of feet below that i got a 1902 IH.. was telling willie the most i've dug in a day on IH's was 3 and a 1/2 reale.. and we talked about how Goes4ever got 5 not too long ago... working up hill above the first IH i found i got another hit, and dug the IH with the bullet hole.. figured i'd keep that one saved with the mercury i found with a bullet hole... clad count was $7. 42 and 4 wheats... on the way out i got a barber dime dated 1900!!! .. what a day.. 7 hours out there swinging... thank you wild willie for a awesome hunt. BTW, did some research on the site you found and got a map of the place from 1893... see you soon

superb finds! congrats on the oldies, glad u thought of me while hunting!

cotere,
You need to do a little research and find out if Annie Oakley ever did a performance in that park when she was touring. If she did you just may have a couple of her targets.

Try not to rub your coins...it leaves scratches- Neat Finds!

Did some research on her and found out that Annie Oakley's last performance was at the Brockton Fair, in 1922...which is 4 towns over from where that IH came from.

going back in the morning to hunt that hill
