Small shield-thing found-needs ID please!

I found this object last saturday on an old wagon road/path. It gave a 60-70 signal and I'm not sure of the material-maybe copper? No markings on it at all, just the shape and the hole in it. Anyone see anything like it before? Next to it is the IH penny I found same day. Thanks for looking. the second pic shows the other side.

It looks like the tip on some leather belts or possibly off a saddle or a bridle.

Yeah, I can see that it could be a belt tip or tip of a leather strap. thanks back-of-the-boat

I believe it is automotive related...end piece of chrome to fasten cloth top to body.

Thanks for the link secretcanyon, and I totally think you are right except I doubt the material is chrome (like the aftermarket on your link).How in the world did you think of this, anyway? you into vintage cars?

well...turned a wrench or two...only have to bleed on a part once to remember what they look like...
