Small Silver Ring/Purple Stone

Hey all,
I decided to sneak out for about an hour between the rain drops. Didn't find a whole lot, but did come up with this little, ( I mean little..) steering silver ring with some kind of purple stone. The stone has a small chip, and the ring is somewhat bent...
Hey, it's silver, and it's a rainy day, I'll take it...

Amethyst, I'll have to try to remember that...
I don't know much about stones, or jewelry in general, never really had any until I started detecting.
I knew the purple stones were called something, but couldn't remember the name. Thanks again...

Nice find. I would have to agree on the amethyst, it is the only purple gemstone I know of.

Yup ,,I was born in that month....Wish I'd been born in Nov. I like the Blue Birth stone...Nice Find.....I only find an average oof 1 ring per year..
