I am back at the beach and decided to hit the thrift stores. I noticed the crowds for much lighter than previous Saturdays. I guess about 11 o’clock I mentioned it to a lady at the shop and she said oh everyone’s at the “worlds largest Yard Sale”. Anyway it turns out to be a huge yard sale at the local high school and I totally missed out on it in the morning. Major bummer. Anyway I spent about $25 total and got all this. That's a nice haul there. I always liked those cameos.

I'm never bummed when I miss things like that and find nice, solid stuff at my usual thrift shops while crowds of people fight it out at the special thing and likely wind up with a lot less.

I don't know.
"The usual places" tend towards a regular business, and shrewd owners. The one-off by a local school or church is packed with one-timers, cleaning out the basement.
Lots of times, they don't know what they have, and and there is little profit motive. Many donate the proceeds and any leftovers.

very nice haul ! This time of year all the snowbirds are getting ready to leave for the summer here in AZ, and the community sales draw huge crowds. It is a good time of the year to move into the blue collar neighborhoods and score good stuff while all the buyers haggle with the snowbirds. Away from the crowd is usualky the best place to buy stuff.

I wish I thought like that. Then I see all your great finds compared to what I get and and I think what did I miss!

Nice collection of goodies!

Agreed. Unless you have a "usual place" that you know has the goodies.

JimDon,

Nice finds, check your inbox when you have a chance. Have something that may be of interest to you.
