Gonna try new tactic at local lake tomorrow
have lucked out and pulled a couple rings and a few other cool finds
but I'm having multiple targets hey away from me because of my pinpointing with
The bigger coil
I'm going to try the smaller 5×8 coil and see if I can get a better grasp on my pinpointing skills in the water and hopefully pull some nice targets
anyone else have problems pinpointing in the water
Thanks and happy HUNTING

I have only used the 5x8 coil in the water, and I never felt a need to pinpoint. If you do, I think your sensitivity might be too high. It could be a side effect of using the big coil too, so definitely give the 5x8 a shot.

Honestly I don't pinpoint in the water. I just use the waggle with the 5 x 8 coil and have no problems isolating the target. Also I have heard/read about incidents of AT Pro control box leakage from around the buttons from pressing them under water.

Will def give that a shot ..... thanks!!
So no pinpointing?
Just locate the target from max tone?
Maybe learning something new!
Happy hunting

Thank you for your info .. haven't had Any problems as if yet and hope I don't
With the leakage

I press my buttons under water all the time with no issues, but even if I do have one, I guess that's what the warranty is for.

Yep but when you have a machine like I do still under warranty (Garrett SH II) and it needs repairs and you are told that you have to pay shipping both ways it really grinds my gears.

How did the 5 x 8 go?

I have struggled to a little with exact PP on my AT Pro compared to the old Bounty Hunter, however, just recently, i've got it sorted.

Basically, I look down through the centre off the coil and pay particular attention to the screen read out more than the sound. I swing left to right slowly ans when I'm at 100% PP I put the coil on the spot, then I turn myself and coil 90 degrees and do the same thing. I can now pin point to an inch or so doing this.

Hope this helps.

Yes will give that a try. ... got it pretty much figured out on land but water is so much different
Thanks again for your advise
