Smith and Cherokee County

Cherokee County. Some places I have researched but have not found the time to get there.
Considered ghost towns, most still there but just a shell of what they were once.

Larissa, area settled about 1837. See Killough Massacre on the net.
Maydell, settlers crossed the Neches river around 1848 and on.

There are others, do a search on Texas ghost towns.

I am in Nacogdoches and have been trying to do some research on some of the old historic places such as ghost towns in east Texas to hunt. I have been hunting for about a year now, but by no means an expert. I have to go up to Dekalb this next week , but after that i will be back in Nac. If you want to get together and hunt sometime let me know.
