Went hunting this morning at a practice soccer field. I just do not do well when I hunt those fields. Why I keep going back beats me but other people tell me how good they do and I keep thinking - next time. I only found 57 cents, a thing to put air in balls (don't know what that is called - needle valve?), the top of one pencil and a nebulizer that was buried, etc. I did see a lot of holes that were dug and not covered up but I think it was animals and not another Th'er (I hope). I kicked dirt in the ones I came across. All in all it was a disappointing morning.

Sorry to hear about the bad day of hunting!

Soccer fields, for me anyway are usually productive. But, I really don't like finding modern clad and such. I'd rather spend all day hunting for elusive silver and old wheats but to each his/her own!

Mumzie,
I wish you had done better, soccor fields are usually good for rings for me,I find more money on the outside fringe, where people sit to watch the game. Your very concientous filling in the holes,I only use a screwdriver when looking for new stuff. I truly hope you do better in the near future. Do you have baseball fields? Try between the fields, especially if there is a grassy area. Also if there is grass around a local rollerskating park. HH Kane23

yes, i would say be sure to hunt around the field where the spectators sit, rahter than on the field itself(i doubt the players lose lots of change.)

A bad day of detecting is better than a good working for the man

a soccer field here is like yours(not a great producer...YET!!!).
I still go there though, and its a very large area to cover.Soon enough something nice will turn up....Then again maybe not,it's a crap shoot
