software update question

I received my Nox 800 today. I don't know the date of mfg. If it was mfg. in 2019 or 2020 would Minelab have done the latest update before boxing it up? I want to be able to use the F2 iron bias setting to help with bottle caps. Looking back to posts from 2018 there are some who didn't like the update and chose to switch back to the original one. Is the newest update better than the one that is referred to in 2018? Happy to see not made in China

It should have the latest update version.
Connect the EQUINOX to the computer USB port using the magnetic charging cable and turn on the detector. 2. When the EQUINOX is identified, the MUU will communicate with the detector and determine the current software version.

I bought my 800 in May 2019 and it did not have the update. BUT, when I did update I thought that bottle caps were WORSE or about the same (on Beach 1 setting). Also, the 800 will detect large pieces of iron regardless of old or new iron bias software. So, when I get the chance I'm going back to the earlier version of the software. I don't think you're missing anything by having the old iron bias software. But I really like the 800 for finding small gold!
