Soldier proof underwater metal detector wanted

The very best kit when I was serving was described as "soldier proof" because squaddies couldn't break it.

Does anyone out there have any advice as to what underwater metal detector could be described in this way. I am not planning to beat it up but it may get bashed around a little going into the ocean from the shore through moderate surf?

Seriously, thanks for the steer, we'll see how I do and I'll post a photo of the 5 gallon bucket full of ring pulls or nails and screws when I find em.
