I found this axle yesterday at a site where I have found 1700s, 1800s and 1900s relics. It is 5 1/2 feet long and weighs 26 pounds. Did it come from a wagon, buggy or a piece of farm machinery? No idea how old it is, but I would imagine that it it was made after 1800.

From the size I would think buggy most likely or light duty wagon, I think threaded hubs first appeared in the 1850's so it will date after then.
