IMG_0746.webp I got out for 90 minutes before the heat and humidity got to me and dug 14 clads worth $2.66 plus a Coronet Large Cent. Unfortunately it's toasted to death. With a magnifying glass and bright light I can only make out a small outline of the bust, three of the stars and the 18 in the date.

Thanks Bob.....wish it was in better shape though.

Very Nice. My one and only large cent is the same way. I can only make out 18?? Still tickled to death with it. Congrats on yours!

I think Ive only found 6 or 7 that I could get dates off of, all the rest were smoked unfortunately, still a cool find

Regardless of condition, any time you're knocking one off the bucket list, it's a major win- Congrats!

Thanks Tuberale…...Yeah, I suppose a worn out copper is better than NO copper.:laughing7:

Might be worn, but still a really old large cent, and even better that it's first! :icon_thumleft:

Thank Colonial Digger. Actually it's not my first large cent, I've found many but this is my very first Coronet variety.
