did some bank hopping in nearby towns got 6 40% silver halfs

found somebodys dump bank; after explaining why i wanted the coins the teller told me they have somebody else that does that and the ones i was buying might have been searched already. well either they dont know about 40%'s, dont care, or didnt look hard enough because i got 4 of them from that bank.

also my dad came back from out of town and brought me all my aunts old coins she said i could have. got some good stuff

5 franklin halfs- 48d x2, 61d, 63d x2
5 1964 90%ers
and 44 silver quarters of various dates 1941-1964

im a happy man

the 25$ in cents didn't have too much; mostly repeat wheat's. i did get a 24 and a 35 i needed though and about 4 other 50's

also got a foreign coin Ive never seen Republica de guatemala 1988 must be their penny same size as ours got some ugly dude on the front too :P

Wow, nice haul from your aunt. My mom has a bunch of old coins (she was a teller for 40 years) that she is giving me in a few weeks, can't wait. She started working at a big bank in 1958, and saved a lot of solid rolls of silver that she picked up way back when. I haven't seen them in years, but I remember looking at them when I was a kid, rolls and rolls of mercs, etc.

Nice job on the inheritance! I was a very lucky fellow also when my mother-in-law found an old coin collection that had been sitting around in a box for about 30 years that an older cousin of her's had given her...
