Some interesting finds! Old Hook of Some Sort And Key!

Hey friends Some relics I have had put up for a little while. I wanted to make sure the hook thinky wasnt war related or something. can anyone tell me what it wasnt used for? and are skeleton Keys worth anything? Like this one.. thanks!!

I see the skeleton keys at antique
stores for $7 to $10 around here.
It looks just like the one I found.
I know nothing about the hook, but
it sure is an interesting find.

The hook looks like one of those spring hooks with one side broken off.

Your hook is a snap, probably from a piece of harness, but have seen them on lot of different things. There would have been a flat piece of spring steel to complete the snap.

Agree too. Nice green key though. They aren't worth too much as they were faily common. You would have to have something really special. You can type in old skeleton keys and I'm sure you can find some worth a fortune

Ron, love the skeleton key And I have to concur that the hook is a dog chain that is missing the springy thing about 99c at hardware store for one that works The key is sweet with that petina . Something good is coming your way my friend. Rob hh

I have found several of that same key,they must have been popular during the 1800's........I know I know skeleton keys were very popular,but I mean that design.
