I can’t tell the size. Possibly some type of trigger guard(?) the side with the flanges look like they would mount to a rifle. I looked up “ornate trigger guards” and saw a few that were vaguely similar. Nothing just like it. I might be way off base: just a guess. Good luck. I’m sure someone will be familiar with it.
