Just registered for this forum, and I like what I've seen. Here a couple of my favorites from this past detecting season. A little research and perseverance go a long way.
The first is a beautiful 2-cent piece dated 1865 I found in a yard near a house built in the 1700's. It's a beauty; looks like it was dropped the day it was minted.
The other is my favorite; a 2-reale dated 1731 as best I can tell. A King Phillip reale to be exact. Spanish silver. Spanish silver was used in the colonies as British silver wasn't allowed from what I've learned.
