I took these out of the olive oil i had them in. I still do not see much improvement. Guess i have to try to find cleaner ones. These still look horrible. :-[

Looks better than mine do (I don't have any of those at all) from the dirt. ::)

CONGRATULATIONS, THE SHIELDED NICKELS SEEM TO BE VERY RARE, I HAVE A VERY FEW
FROM CHARLESTON S.C. AND ONE WITH THE "RAYS" AROUND THE SHEILD. BUT THEY ARE
HARD TO COME BY....

Nice finds -- I would be more than happy to take those dirty nickles off your hands -- Meep Meep

What area do you hunt in? You appear to have an abundance of good older sites to find all those nickels & Indians. I have to research a lot here to find good old sites & most of the ones I hav hit so far have been very trashy & have yielded poor results. Congrats on such a nice accumulation of old coins. Im JEALOUS!

I've never traveled more than 15 minutes from my house in all the years i've hunted.

They sure look a lot better than any of mine do...
That one with the "5" and stars showing at the bottom looks great, WTG!!!
Good luck & Happy hunting~

Did you use anything other than olive oil to clean them?

The shield nicks rock!
