It's hard to tell without knowing the size but it could be part of some horse tack

Could be a cinch ring from a saddle or a lot of other things please put something with it for a size reference a quarter or dime or a ruler.

Agreeing... such rings when found in a farm-field are most likely to be from horse or mule equipment.
