This looks really familiar but I can't seem to place it. As soon as it is identified it will be obvious to me, I'm sure. I found it on a property about a mile from the heaviest fighting of a major Civil War battlefield. It's also near a major crossroads that the armies would have used. It could easily be farm related, though, as the entire area was farmland for a hundred years before the war and more than a hundred after until it was developed. In that case, it could also be modern. It kind of reminds me of a large flat head screwdriver with a hole through the center of it. Measurements are as follows: 5.5" long, a little over 1" at its widest and tapering off to about 1/4" where I'm guessing a handle would have been attached. It probably screwed into wood, fence post of into barn wall for a wire.

Interesting find. Maybe some sort of plow tine? Hopefully more fascinating than that.
