More finds from a home built in the early 1900s. Lots of modern clad coins. Four wheat pennies. Dates are 1942, 1919 (or 1911?), 1956, and 1957. Also found some kind of homemade bead ring and part of a Champion spark plug gap gauge. Not sure how old it is. Dug a base to a shotgun shell. Looks like it's a Winchester. Last item of interest is a .38 ACP cartridge. As far as I know it's not a caliber that's particularly common nowadays. Looked up the headstamp. Seems like it's from the Robin Hood Ammunition Company and would have been made sometime around 1906-1919 but I'm not sure. Do you guys think it's safe to store as is, or do you recommend finding a way to remove the bullet from the case and dumping out the powder? Thanks

There isn't many issues of storing this .38 round.
If the dating of this cartridge is correct then 100 yrs of being buried in wet soils-it would probably be a case it being not dangerous in any way.
Just don't store on top of a hot register, hitting it with a hammer,

Even doing those two things probably wouldn't have much of an effect at this point. Store it like it is or pull it apart....whatever you like. I personally don't keep ammo I can't use, so, I pull crusty "live" ammo apart and recycle the metals. If I find a fresh drop that I can't use, I offer them to friends or pull them apart.

Thanks for the advice. I consider it a relic so I'll definitely keep it as is.
