Just gorgeous Breezie! ;D

That is SOO wonderful..

Pretty blue eggs in a nest. They look like jewels. I live in a ghost town in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Such sights are extremely rare here. Thank you.

Now what were you doing swinging your metal detector in the trees :icon_scratch:

Great picture :icon_thumleft:

The nest is only about 4 feet from the ground in a tiny tree, and I find the construction totally amazing. It blows my mind to think this Robin's nest was built one straw at a time and woven to perfection, complete with mud sides. Hopefully I'll be able to post an update of the babies. Breezie

Breezie from what I can remember those looks like Blue Bird eggs. It's been a long time since I've seen any, but that's what they look like. They are very pretty. Thanks for sharing.

My 5 yr. old granddaughter has seen the birds swoop down on our yard critters, so she knows better than go near a nest. We have a resident, almost pet raccoon (Bandit), who has been attacked many times by nesting birds. A little side note about Bandit: The first time I saw her out in the daylight, I thought she might have rabies because you rarely see one in the day time, but she's almost a permanent fixture on the bird feeder. Buster, the squirrel is more interested in sitting at my office window watching what's going on in here! Breezie

Cool. It is amazing how a bird can build a nest out of sticks, grass and mud and it will withstand some of the worse weather. It is seldom you see a 'coon out during the day too. we had one years ago that would come around during that day and we thought the same thing, rabies, at first.

Now you just need some really small bacon.

Please let your 5 year old see them regularly. We have 10 bluebird boxes up at school and often have 20-80 kids peek in the nest to see the eggs and fledgelings. As long as they don't touch, the birds just sit nearby and tweet. I know that the PETA people will be all over me for that but, most kids today will never get to marvel at an intricately woven bird's nest or the shade of blue that only nature can create. Thanks for the pics.
