Bounty Hunter QD II
I have a 32 foot travel trailer that I have on a permanent year round site at a campground that's over 20 years old. Just picked up a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II on ebay for $75. The only thing that was wrong with it was a missing battery cover. I contacted Bounty Hunter and told them the story and they sent me a replacement cover. Took the kids to the trailer for spring break and the wife let me go hunting between "Honey do" lists. I hit 4 kiddie parks, 2 volleyball courts, misc vending machine areas, and a few open area campsites. The scary part about this that this place is so big I haven't even touched it yet, and I'm there year round, and we are still close to the public for another 3 weeks or so. So if your into camping you might want to take your MD with you, oh yeah be ready to dig a lot of pull tabs. As for needing help cleaning out this place....let's put it this way I need the exercise. ;D

Very nice. Any silver in that bunch of coins? Where is the elongated cent from? (We like to know the details, ya know. ;) )

I think it's alot of fun to dig up lots of clad. When you're done and you make a big pile of coins, it's pretty impressive. Nice job.

Hi AxeMan,

If you are not addicted to detecting yet, you will be by the time you finish hunting the campground. Don't say I didn't warn you!! ;D

Great bunch of finds, congratulations.

Have fun, Bob

UH OH!!

It's either not a nickel machine, or your discriminator is a tad to high. Of course, I can't blame you if you are finding so many pulltabs.

That is a real nice haul of spendables you got there, Lets see how many more you get before the tourists show up.

Good luck!......HH

Very nice finds congrats !

Sorry to say no Silver in the bunch, I did HAVE a 55’ Wheat but when I took the picture I didn’t see it. I got a feeling one of my kids got into my find stuff can and something happened to it, >:( ah no big thing, just have to find it again, and keeping my finds in a safer place now. (After beating my step children) Just kidding!

As for elongated cent, it came from the Campgrounds They have a penny press on site, pull it out from under a swing in one of the kiddie parks. Some little kid lost it and went home crying. Now see I would tell you what it says but it has my campgrounds name on it and I wouldn’t want all you pro’s and your high end machines to come and clean me out, I mean what would I do all summer then?
;D

It’s Saturday morning, have a few things to do here with Church (volunteering stuff) before we try to head out to the “Trailer” (other wise I be there now) Mother Nature is not working with us right now either, calling for a lot of rain this weekend and turning colder, next weekend is Easter so that weekend is out, I’m going through withdrawal already, don’t look like I’m getting back for a few weeks, guess I’m going to have to work over a couple of local parks for a “fix”

As for it not being a Nickel Machine, well that’s me. The Bounty Hunter QDII has an “Auto Notch” mode on it and I’m using it. It filters out “S” caps and old pull-tabs, I’m guessing it also is filtering out the Nickels too since it has been pointed out to me. But doing a air test it stills pings my gold wedding ring, So I’ll give up a couple of Nickels for a chance to dig piece of Gold. With out the “Auto Notch” the QDII light up like a Christmas tree and sounds like a new Rap Song “Bing Bong Ting” with every swing.

As for the tourists showing up (I like calling them the Weekend Warriors) Funny they can stay until late afternoon ,but most get up on Sunday make breakfast and leave. Well Now I got at least six hours to hunt before I leave. I hope to clean out so sites around me that always get rented out for weekends. Go in with “Auto Notch” on, get the good stuff, then come back with it off and clean out the crap. This way I would “own” those sites. Maybe I should post that, I never seen a post were someone say “He nice find, that’s a nice pile of crap you have there”

It aint braggin, if you can back it up, Pilgrim..... ;D

I like to back it up but April is a cruel month in Chicago, Last weekend was cold and rain, this weekend is snow showers and cold, and if that was not enough out of six of us in the house 4 were up all night with the flu including myself. There's hardly any propane in the tank at the Trailer so heat would be short lived, and me and the wife can hardly move, I asked her if she still wanted to go out to the trailer this weekend and she said something I can't repeat here but in no unsaid words it was "are you nuts, no way" and I feel about the same. I'm afraid if I picked up my detector right now the weight of it would pull me over the Flu bugs got a hold on us really good. So looks like I'll be sitting back this weekend reading about all of you and your finds, save some for me. And as for next week, the 10 day forcast is calling for rain, so already that not looking good. I was thinking about hitting some local parks this weekend if I stayed home (Before I got sick, I'm not going anywhere now forget that) but was just reading about a guy a couple of towns over for me who got busted in a park, I got a letter into my park district right now but no reply yet. I'm hoping that this string of bad luck means something good is to come, sick and all I really can't wait to get back out!
