This is photos of what new finds has came from the CW Camp I listed in the Missouri Tread a month ago. The site is being buried under 10' of dirt to make way for a new building. These items will most likely be the last that will be saved.
The site gave up about 10 bullets an hour when first found, Now it is down to one an hour.
The photos are of 69cal 58cal 44cal 41cal, a 1865 1866 double stamped nickle, 1839 silver dime with a square nail hole for making a lucky charm, and a silver eagle Thunder Bird with turquoise center. And a fork from an officers field kit. One of the 58cal bullets has tooth marks all over it and another is a carved 58cal.

I hate to see a site like this be destroyed. It has gave up over 300 bullets and countless other items. With 8lb chunks of lead that were melted down bullets where you can see the rings of bullets in the chunks along with charcoal.
But stay tuned I have a lead on another camp near by that should be as good as this one. And never hunted.

Nice saves! Damned progress!

Super Finds! At least, you worked the camp hard when you could. CW sites are disappearing every day. With residential building and acid rain, the brass CW relics are deteriorating very quickly. Good luck with the new site!

Super finds . Its a shame to lose such a good site. Good luck on the other camp.

I am WAITING for a spot to get developed, just so I can find some relics. The old fart that owns the land now is onery as all get out and won't let anyone in there to save them.

Sure wondering about that eagle Likley some old Indian jewlry Maybe worth the whole dang lot ya outa check that one out

Glad you are able to save some o fthat stuff before our entire history is paved over.Nice finds.

South Central Missouri...

That would put you close to Pilot Knob or Rolla maybe? I grew up in that area. There were lots of little skirmishes around if you did enough research to find out about them. Good work on the finds!

Great finds! You were lucky to get what you did when you did!! HH!!

Welcome from the UK.

Nice collection of lead.

When I first discovered a forgot 19th Century rifle range, I was digging BPH (Bullets Per Hour) normally about 35. Ended up with over 600 - .577s.
