Hey everyone,
I'm new to this forum and to metal detecting, but I was wondering if there was any metal detecting clubs or organized hunts in south Texas? I haven't seen any as of yet.

Anyways just thought I'd post this. This site is pretty cool.... 8) 8)

I know theres one in galveston But that dep on how far south you are

I'm a little northwest of Corpus Christi in northern Jim Wells county.

There is one in Corpus. The Corpus Christi Exploration and Metal Detecting club I believe is the name of it. I'm thinking of joining when I finally get a detector.

Does anybody have any phone #'s for this club?
Hey golden24k. You in Corpus?

Hey TX kicker girl, Does the club have any organized hunts and are there any meetings?

the corpus christi clud has organized hunts

we here in the valley are just forming. The site was the first step, we are now looking into finding a place to meet monthly and then from there we would like to hold hunts once a month as well. We have enough people interested now so we should have something going shortly

The Corpus Christi club meets the first Thursday of every month. We usually have an informal hunt the third weekend of every month(excepy July & August). There are two organized hunts a year (fall & spring) and you must be a member. I think the yearly dues are 12 bucks. We have between 20-40 members....depending on snowbird season ;D . If your local and want to find some more places to hunt or someone to hunt with...attend a meeting! There's free cokes & coffee and all kinds of snacks!

Hey Golden24K

I was born in Kingsville and lived there for the first 11 years of my life but kept going back to visit my grandparents until they passed away. I starting going back again once in a while since my mom moved back to Kingsville. I live in Angleton, just south of Houston. Do you know if Flato elementary is still standing? I went to grade school there in the early and late 50's as well as McRoberts on Corral street. My cousin, Andy, is a Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace there in Kingsville. That park (county park?) just south of Kingsville on hwy77 has been there since I was a kid, should be some silver in there. There was also another park where the water tower sits about 2 or 3 blocks south of Henrietta just off 14th st, you might check it out, don't know if it's still there. I used to climb on that water tower, if my mom had of known she would of skinned my butt. HH John

Hey John, My daughter is going to A & M there in Kingsville....and so is most of my money. I go thru there all the time and have detected in the park that is on the south side and the one that is about 4 blocks east of the college. Lots of clad. Don't know the schools there though.
