ONE Word : "SIMPLICITY" . I owned both, and ended up selling the Explorer, because TOO MANY Bells & Whistles to Tempt me to try? 
? ?The W.O.T. Alot more Coverage per swing & Depth. It is still just a sensitive on Small targets as the 10" coil. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Drawbacks to the W.O.T. , searching real trashy areas in "all metal" is hard, if you have multiple targets under the coil, at the same time. <> IN Disc no problem. the machine analizes whats under the coil, and gives a signal on the best target first. even with the Disc. turned all the way down.? ......... By the way, I have the SOVEREIGN XS-2 PRO, which is the same as the elite, only older. & less controls then the Elite. AND THE W.O.T. Stays on for 99% of all my Hunting. .... I used Whites, Bounty Hunter, & Garrett in the past. ....... I WOULD NOT TRADE? MY SOVEREIGN / W.O.T. for anything out there. I have considerd the Quatro, But It would Probably collect dust, like the Explorer did.? ....> I HOPE THIS HELPS .; Jeff
