I purchased a large round painting on board. ( I will have to upload a picture when I get batteries for the camera) but it is approx 5' 6" around. It is signed on the bottom J MATE (all capitalized letters). It is of an old man sitting next to a table making pottery. There is a cat on the floor next to him. There is a lot of gold guild in the paint, there are paint cans and brushes on a stool next to the man. Over his left shoulder on the wall is a sign that says, "EL CORDOBES". I can not find much of anything on this artist. There is not a date on it anywhere either. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
