Wow... very nice find!! Does the coin have any unusual markings like "copy" or something
else. The reason I ask, is my dad bought me a reproduction coin of a real, that was made
from some of the silver that was found on the shipwreck Atocha. It was attached to a
silver chain and looks very similar to your coin. Once again, very nice find!!!!

I went to a coin collector in Georgia,a friend of family and he said the reale was from around 1618.. HE THEN OFFERED ME 3000 FOR IT. Of course I did not sell . It already had a hole in it,so I had a necklace made.I think someone lost it from a chain . I have more finds to post from vacation just been tired .. Jim

AWESOME!!!! Ya know if someone offers that much that quick-it's worth more!!!!!

Nice find! Can't wait to see the rest!

Have fun,

I can't say I have ever seen a Spanish Reale dating to 1618 that was quite so shiny as that....Not even close! Looking forward to seeing some clear shots of it....

WTG! & Good Luck. Ruck

That's reassuring news for me that you found a reale. Means that there's still treasure there when I go next week.
