Planting trees yesterday and found this. NW Georgia. Biggest thing I've found yet. What did I find? Then the black one is perfectly smooth on one side...is this the beginning of one?

The piece you have the edge view pictured looks like a scraper or preform to me. It has been shaped by human hands. Can't tell much about the other piece. Maybe a piece of debitage. Keep looking in that spot.

Are the first 5 pictures all the same stone? Are the last 4 pictures the same stone?

The first 5 pics are the same and the next 4 are a different one.

sometimes people talk about a busy background making it hard to see details, that’s a busy stone. The side view doesn’t look like they’ve done the fine flaking work to get a nice straight center line so I’d go preform

On the second it doesn’t look like a biface there is a little chipping coming around the edge but I’m not sure it’s intentional. I’d say it could be a retouched flake.

Based on that I would say I agree with Older the Better, the first looks to be a preform and the 2nd a flake maybe when blown up the chipping doesn't really look like it was intentional
