I don't remember which bridge it is, but it used to be a custom in Spokane to throw nickels off one of the bridges over the Spokane River Gorge and make a wish. All I remember is that looking downstream from the bridge the river made a hard right 1/4-1/2 mile down. And the bridge must have been 100' or more above the river.
 

More than likely Monroe St bridge. Never heard of throwing nickels from it though.
