I never saw one reinforced on the bottom like that. Cool find. Looking at the fourth photo, I'd say pewter also.

I think its pewter as well,nice save. All my cutlery I find seems broken.

yes nice find. Looks like pewter. You really need a colonial or 1800's flatware book, or online flatware site to properly get values but first you have to identify, and that is not always very easy esp. with no markings. Good luck!

That reinforcement is often called a rat tail... I agree it adds cool character to these. 18th century pewter seems quite possible to me.

1700's, or very early 1800's pewter serving spoon. I have found many pewter spoon handles, but never the whole spoon.

Definitely an 18th century rat tail pewter spoon. And they definitely have some weight to them. Its much easier to find one of these whole as opposed to the earlier latten spoons. Great find!!

Thanks bill! Found it near Yorktown yesterday and found another broken one today along with other silver and pewter items

Small world. I lived in Yorktown for 17 years until we moved about 45 min away almost 4 years ago. I've found 3 spoons like yours, and they all came from the same site in Hampton. You must be hunting along a creek or river as that's about the only accessible areas around here this time of year. Hope you can keep the finds coming.
