In doing a little looking this morning here are some pictures I came up with of some possible similar looking spurs.

Here are some pics of the forks I found online.

The holes are wrong for a spur, in the wrong drection and they are two holes. Makes me think fork with the ends rusted off.

Agreed... not a spur...
More likely fork piece.

Now I like the "slingshot idea... would have had a wood double rivet handle... I can see that EXCEPT... the prongs would have been same size in "length/height"... UNLESS one of them broke...
causing the "yieldie"... to toss in the dirt... :)

Could be cooking "whip" etc...
OR... I was thinking something hand held like a cotton fork... but small "in house" type version... similar to this...

Thanks for the help everyone. My gut was telling me not a spur but figured good to see what others thought. Could be a frog gig or fishing spear there are a few lakes and rivers in the area, would make a god sling shot also. Still cool find, one of these days it might make it into a shadow box. At least I know its not a spur, that's good enough for me to go ahead and mark solved.
