as far as prices for your area you should call the dealers near you. if you go to Google map, then "find business". type in your zip code and "scrap metal". it will come up with all the dealers by you with the closest first. it will have the phone numbers, you can call them and ask your questions. also to see witch ones are paying the best.

I strip everything down. ( It is against the law to release the freon from air conditioners) The smaller stuff I save till winter when I have less going on.
