"ST JUST POINT 1854" AULLUVIAL GOLD CAMP

Hi all, waited until midday,as it was real cold this morning.went a place that i know well.there was a gold rush here in 1854 and i went over a few camp sites and it was a little lean for finds.Did find a real early penny with no date, small mount pin looks like a rail spike and a rock with quartz on it.Here a few pics of site and finds.

Love the quartz, is that the REAL stuff in it?

Nice post Tinpan! I can't believe you do not sqeak out a small nugget from time to time while detecting all those gold camps and mines. Much like me detecting around the Celtic areas and can not find anything older than an 1850ish copper coin, LOL! HH, Mike

Looks like a good spot to check out those rock bars for alluvial gold - all you need now is a snuffer bottle, shovel, screwdriver, pry bar, bent spoon.......... ;D
