Star heel plate , silver baby spoon (bowl)

Went to a school thats built on old farmland , i wanted to start cleaning out the shallow clad to get to the goodies below..got a star heel plate (does it have a u.s on the shoe side?) And a baby spoon bowl, cant find the exact makers mark but i believe its from sheffield u.k?

I see a ton of heart heel plates but not many star variety
Anyone else see a "u.s" on it?

Good finds. I often wonder about these fancy heel plates and what happened if you inadvertently trod on a lump of dog-poo.

The marks on the spoon are not in the correct format to be British silver hallmarks. It's American and by the Watson Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts.



Difficult to date without seeing the handle pattern, but somewhere between about 1920-1955. It might be a baby spoon, but I think more likely a souvenir spoon. They were prolific manufacturers of the latter in sterling silver and when the business was sold to R. Wallace & Sons in 1955 there were around 3,000 dies.

Thanks for the silver id! No wonder i couldnt find the exact one in britain..there was a house/barns still on the spot on the 1934 overhead pics ,so the date makes sense ..

As far as the dog poo is concerned..they probably didnt bother cleaning it out , there was probably more than one star, heart and spade shape dog poo cookies found ..lolol
