Found this at an old house in the heart of a small town. It was right off the front porch about in the middle of the yard. It seems to me that this might have hung from a larger piece by the two tiny chains.

The two small chains did hook to a tiny ring that I ended up loosing somewhere. The ring was size and weight proportionate to the chain. Each chain comes out a seperate hole on the top of the item. There in an additional hole on the bottom that may have had a chain coming out of it. I somehow think this might have been hanging from a ribbon, or secondary piece of jewelry. Thanks for your replies.

GC,
Didn't even think of that thing being a Jewish Symbol. Good going. BTW...I have it cleaned up as much as it can be. It seems to be copper or brass..it has turned greenish in color and unless I take some hardcore cleaner to it to shine it up, that is as good as it gets. I feel this must be really old. I found an 1890 coin not too far away from this. Strange....I wish I could figure out what this was on at one time.

Could be a costume jewelry slide or a dangle off a necklace.

Yeah, it could be. If it is...I bet it will be difficult to indentify.

It looks as though a stone is missing on the back side.
I would guess that it is a piece from a slide bracelet

Interesting idea....this would hold true since it is hollow and has two holes on one side. However, the other side has only one hole and it is centered between the holes on the other side. When I found it it was like this:

As stated, it is hollow:
