I agree. I was just curious if anyone saw resale possibility.

I have a bunch of gold tone jewlery like that. I know it's plated but is it even worth scrapping or what kind of metals is it?

Sterling Silver- 16 grams

When it comes to marked sterling, I try to keep the price at about $.50 a gram or less. You hit a clean single.

Don't forget to take off at least 20% if selling for scrap. Scrap value for low-end jewelry is not the same as scrap value on 999 bullion. Thus, about $8.

IMO, you learned a lesson on these. Not trying to be a downer, just trying to help you learn for the future.

If you were buying for yourself or a gift, then you got a decent deal, otherwise, you will not make any profit. Why buy just to break even?

IMO, only buy at scrap value or above if the eye appeal of the piece warrants selling significantly above melt.

Any idea what eye appeal would look like? Any help appreciated.

Is there a makers mark on the earrings. I can't tell in your photo.

There were but I couldn't make them out. I scraped them for $10 today, so 20% return is a line drive single. HH

Just extremely curious where you were able to find a place to offer you full scrap value on 925 jewelry? I have been looking for such a source and have not been able to find one.

I got lucky. I think he was just in a hurry and threw out a figure. I will try again when I get some more items and see if he pays the same. It was a one man operation out of an office building,

Whatever makes you fell content. Me personally I don't mind selling scrap or wholesale. Its fast money and you don't have to deal with going to the post office or anything. However as of late I'm going to try and sell more things retail cause after all it is more money. Keep @ it and HH !!

My real goal is to go with scrap and try to buy their goodies add to the stack. HH

I sell a ton of sterling jewelry for over scrap. Recently a designer signed 35 gram necklace for. $450. List them up buy it now for $25 free shipping maybe best offer, it's coming up on the holidays you may sell them.

Isabella,

Is there a "list" of Designer names you know and would share? Some of the pieces I find seem too pretty to just scrap.

Thanks
