Still claddin' but with a couple surprises.

I'm still trying to get the bad taste of that one hunt out of my mouth. So, I went to a regular claddin' spot.

It turn up one or two small surprises though.

Like this old crotal bell that won't be "crotalling" anymore. ;)

A bit of a shame though. Looks like it might have been pretty nice in it's day.
You can still see a bit of the design still. Oh well, it'll have a nice retirement in my display case, now.

Blingie eyeballing the little sand dollar earring. :)

And even good ole George was a pleasant surprise.

All in all, a nice day.

Thanks for peeking!

Always nice when a few unexpected things turn up during a hunt. Strange that an old crotal bell would make an appearance at a "claddin" spot. There might have been something there before. You can see a portion of the makers mark on the bell in the one picture. There might be enough of it there for you to date it accurately. Congrats on a nice hunt!

Yeah, it does help to keep things fresh don't it? :)
I'm afraid I don't know crotals very well. Maybe someone can suggest what angle is needed to see the mark that would help.

Thanks!

Nice finds! What's the George Washington coin? Dollar?

This is part of the makers mark. I'll see if I can find a link to post in a few minutes. 9999a.webp

Yep, dollar. If they'd lose more of these, I might could get up to minimum wage. LOL

Thanks!

Oh ok, never seen that one. I've seen the others, just never the George.
